What Is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)?

At Cadence Chiropractic, we have helped many patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. We believe in removing nerve interference, helping people heal naturally. Our treatment is gentle and safe. It is possible to achieve relief from carpal tunnel symptoms without drugs and surgery!

What is carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)?

There are several symptoms, most often involving numbness, tingling, pain, and even weakness in the fingers or hand. Pain can travel up or down the arm. Symptoms may become worse with activity, and can even awaken you in the middle of the night. Untreated, carpal tunnel symptoms may become progressively worse, even resulting in muscle weakness that results in dropping things or being unable to effectively open and close the hand.

Carpal tunnel symptoms usually result from compression or impingement of the median nerve at the wrist, as well as the elbow and arm. What many people don’t realize is that this nerve impingement or interference may also begin at the neck, where the nerve roots exit from the spine.

Chiropractic care addresses the root cause of carpal tunnel syndrome. At Cadence Chiropractic, we are passionate about finding the root cause of your pain and symptoms. Our carpal tunnel patients have found great relief from getting gentle adjustments to the neck and spine, helping restore nerve function and nerve flow to the arms. From there, we address all of the joints of the upper extremity, including the  shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. These safe, gentle, and effective adjustments help improve nerve and blood flow, while decreasing pain, inflammation, numbness, and tingling.

Have you ever heard of people having multiple surgeries for carpal tunnel syndrome, because the first surgery didn’t work?

This unfortunately happens all too often, and it can happen because nerve interference at the neck was not addressed. Our treatments provide lasting and effective relief, because we address all of the areas of the body where there could be interference to the nerves going to the wrist and hand. We want your treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome to give you lasting relief.

It is also important to address the soft tissue aspects of carpal tunnel syndrome. Our doctors are specially trained in many soft tissue techniques, including myofascial release, active release technique, and trigger point therapy to help address the muscle and soft tissue dysfunction that can also contribute to carpal tunnel symptoms.

We also work with you on lifestyle and ergonomic factors that may be contributing to your carpal tunnel syndrome. We give specific and gentle exercises and stretches that you can do at home that will help your body recover and prevent your symptoms from returning.

Most importantly, please don’t wait to address your carpal tunnel symptoms.

Untreated, symptoms often progressively become worse, resulting in worse numbness, tingling, pain, and even weakness.

Our doctors are specially trained in all aspects of healing carpal tunnel syndrome without drugs and surgery. At Cadence Chiropractic, we believe that the body is capable of healing naturally, once we remove the interference to the nervous system. Using this approach, we are able to help relieve the pain, numbness, and tingling of carpal tunnel syndrome, restoring wrist and hand function. We love to help our patients get relief from pain and restore their bodies to improved vitality and life!
