What does your life look like 10 years from now? What do you expect to be capable of as time goes on? The unfortunate reality is that in the USA 61 million adults suffer from some form of disability the majority of which is a physical disability. The amount of physical disability has led to the opioid epidemic where we currently have 51 opioid prescriptions for every 100 people. Even something as simple as Ibuprofen has been estimated to cause 16,000 deaths and over 100,000 hospitalizations per year because of its side effects.
My job is to help people avoid drugs and surgery with a natural alternative to the common problems we face, so what is chiropractic’s long-term effect? Research has shown that people under consistent chiropractic care have fewer prescriptions, fewer surgery and some research has even shown people take fewer sick days from work.
I often talk about what is called the cascade effect which means that small things grow into large things as they fall. Think of it like family history, your great great great great grandfather married and had kids, there kids had more kids and so on so forth until you are born in a large family grown from a single point. The effect of a chiropractic adjustment if viewed in a chart would be like a family tree in that it expands and effects many things from one seemingly small thing.
Another example you might experience is you wake up one morning and have a kink in your neck that prevents you from turning your head to the left. Later that day you are driving your car and you are not capable of checking your blind spot, how much of an effect can that have on your life and potentially others lives that might be in that blind spot. After getting your adjustment now you can freely turn your head and the secondary complications disappear. Small things can grow into big things and chiropractic is set to help you function better for greater health and quality of life.
We currently live in a crazy world of COVID 19 and uncertainty, it is more important than ever that we take control of our health today. If we can be proactive and focused on health, then we can all add years to life and life to years.
